How to download an app outside us
Those of you who have hoped to access the US market by connecting to the internet via a US VPN will have been disappointed to find that it did not work.
The reason? Google Play apparently gets your geographic location information from your SIM card, or Google Play has cache data about your location. The solution? This will automatically switch of your WIFI, which you need to switch back on. You can do this from the Android notification area see right screenshot or you can get to it from the settings.
Just tap the WIFI icon on the top left and it will light up again. We recommend: Tunnelbear. Works beautifully, but provides only 1GB of bandwidth in the free version, which should be more than enough for this sort of thing. You can double that to 2 GB by mentioning the app in a tweet. It works slightly differently from Tunnelbear you can read more about this in our review linked to above; scroll down for the android version. You may need to wait for a few seconds after each one; if the buttons turn grey and un-pressable, wait until they revert back.
Note: clearing data will in fact automatically clear cache. You need to purchase American App Store gift cards for thiswhich are in US dollarsbecause gift cards aren't transferable across different regions. Unfortunately, you can't use your US App Store account to buy these, since there is no payment method linked to it. And you can't use your original App Store account, because that will link the gift cards to the wrong region.
Alternatively, buy gift cards from highly-reviewed sellers on eBay. But beware of common eBay scams when taking this route. Keep in mind that you might pay a small fee for the currency conversion if you use a foreign payment method to buy them. After buying a physical or email gift card, open the App Store with your US Apple ID to redeem the code and add a balance to your account. Now you know how to use a US App Store account from anywhere in the world.
However, if you wanted to know how to get American apps because you wanted to stream Hulu in Canada, for example, you also need a VPN that makes it look like you're trying to stream video from within the US. This is because streaming services are only licensed to broadcast content in certain countries. The same is true whether you want to stream video from other US-only streaming services or whether you want to access the American version of Netflix.
Unfortunately, not all VPNs work with streaming services. Need to clear disk space on your Windows computer? Here are the Windows files and folders that can be safely deleted to free up disk space. Sounds cool. Is there any workaround available? This is not a some sort of secret. From watching sports, through itunes, to netflix…. Everyone does is, just this is better explained, instead of making holes in the Internet, you get it written as it should be.
The only problem is the speed. Because when you download something from your Appstore, the server is close and get it fast, but when it is in US…. Last time I tried to use a non-native iTunes card in the UK store e.
Thanks for pointing this out, the link has been corrected to point at two different mirrors. Here is another direct download link for the Switcher menubar utility:. I think everyone outside the USA does this. The worst part is toggling the different iTunes accounts because apps are tied to them.
A day or two? You definitely are the personification of the Canadian passive approach to things. Apple Pay — Still mostly locked out. No NFC access for pairing etc still, even though the hardware is capable. Where is it released — USA of course. Most of this stuff, there is no reason legal, or otherwise for product and services available in the USA to not be made accessible in Canada. We are both allegedly countries where free-commerce is allowed, and more so, Canada is mostly USA businesses anyway, so what gives?
Might as well be a warring country as they seem to get more toys from USA than we do. Canada gets free health care and education, the USA gets junk toys made in China that will last a week. Which would you rather have? Tough choice! You could always immigrate, the USA lets anyone in.
Canada on the other hand makes it very tough to get in, iPhone or not. There is even an entire business model formed around getting physical goods from stubborn sellers in the USA to Canadian buyers. Name required. Mail will not be published required.
